Infectious Disease PCR Testing
Our platform of molecular-based infectious disease assays is designed to detect rodent viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. Our technology, PCR combined with a fluorogenic probe, provides the highest level of sensitivity and specificity for this application. By combining PCR technology with high throughput procedures, along with facilities designed to eliminate sample cross contamination, we offer a robust and efficient testing program.
Viral PCR Panels: An In Vitro Antibody Production Alternative for Screening of Biologics
Screening of biological materials for infectious agents prior to use for in vivo experimentation is a vital precaution for research integrity.
Our fluorogenic PCR panels are a quick and relatively inexpensive alternative to traditional In VivoMouse/Rat Antibody Production (MAP/RAP) testing of biologics. Our panels are composed of problematic laboratory animal pathogens, including zoonotic agents. Agents listed as part of a panel can also be tested for on an individual basis.
When screening a sample using one of our Viral PCR Panels, cell number is not critical. If there are more than 1 x 107 cells/mL, please make a note of it when you submit your sample, and we will dilute it. We extract from a small fraction (~200 µL) of cells resuspended in culture or freeze media. Our sample contains media as well as cells in an effort to look for any non-cell associated viral particles that may be present. Samples may be shipped on ice packs or dry ice. Please view our recommended sample type chart for more information.
