Health Monitoring Program: Microbiology, Parasitology, Pathology and Serology
A comprehensive health monitoring program is an integral part of laboratory animal management programs to help control and eliminate health variables that affect important research projects. Our Health Monitoring program offers panels designed for both routine surveillance of your animal colonies and for diagnosis of disease.
Our panels include:
-
Microbiology - the screening of respiratory and enteric cultures for bacterial species that are primary or opportunistic pathogens
-
Parasitology - the microscopic examination of the pelage and skin as well as the dissection of the enteric organs to observe ectoparasites, protozoa, and helminths
-
Pathology - a post-mortem examination of the animal along with histological evaluation of gross abnormalities
-
Serology - the testing of serum for the detection of antibodies to viruses
All reports are available on-line in real time through ILIMS.
