Genetically Engineered Models and Services: Phenotyping
To assist in characterizing models by assessing both qualitative and quantitative changes in anatomy, physiology, and behavior, we offer a comprehensive portfolio of phenotyping services. Initial characterization begins with our PhenoFirst® protocol, designed as the first thorough look at your rat or mouse model. Genetically Engineered Models and Services offers the following phenotyping panels:
Panels are customizable, with protocols including ultrasound, DEXA scan, radiography, activity level, grip strength measurement, and hot plate available. Panels generally incorporate:
- In-life analysis with clinical examinations, primary behavioral observations, growth curves, reproductive analysis, and cognitive analysis.

Pathology services in support of phenotypic characterization with clinical pathology, necropsy evaluations, and histopathology.
- Molecular phenotyping assays utilizing Quantitative PCR (Q-PCR) techniques
- Biomarker screening via Multi-Analyte Profiles (MAP)
